Crown Infrastructure Delivery - Why our partners value working with CID - 2026

How we work

Infrastructure projects are complex and challenging. At Crown Infrastructure Delivery we help Government agencies confidently navigate that complexity by managing risk, maintaining momentum and supporting the successful infrastructure delivery across New Zealand.

Many agencies aren’t set up for the day‑to‑day demands of planning and delivering infrastructure projects. That’s where CID comes in. Rather than establishing a one‑off internal project team or relying on limited construction sector experience, agencies can partner with us for specialist infrastructure delivery support.

Our teams work alongside agencies from the earliest stages, helping shape business cases, strengthening design development and building the relationships needed for smooth delivery. Throughout construction we provide the practical expertise, commercial oversight and robust assurance needed to keep projects on track, on time and on budget.

Partners across the Crown, Local Government and our contractor networks consistently tell us they value our clear communication, strong collaboration and ability to anticipate challenges in complex environments. Their feedback reinforces what we aim for every day: trusted delivery and confidence that the job will be done right.

With over $2b of infrastructure delivery experience and expert staff based across the country, CID is well positioned to help agencies deliver high‑quality infrastructure outcomes for New Zealanders.

Crown Infrastructure Delivery - ESR's Experience

PHF Science's experience with Crown Infrastructure Delivery

We strive to bring more than just technical expertise to a project. By integrating with project teams and managing risk, finances, and reporting, Crown Infrastructure Delivery transforms how projects are delivered. Hear more from PHF Science (formerly ESR) about how it works.

We’re an agency that focuses on biosecurity, but we don’t build things. As a government agency we don’t have the in-house capability to oversee and manage the construction and delivery of large projects like this. Partnering with CID, who have that expertise and strong capability to manage that entire side of the work for us, has been fantastic.

The reporting, for example, has been outstanding from CID. We've just taken it to a whole new level of capability, with dashboard reporting, major issues, risk changes, management of the financial side of things, forecasting, and that sort of thing. It's been a really brilliant change from that point of view.

I think CID has done a really good job implementing the right health and safety systems to keep students, staff and the community safe. The whole team is very diligent and very competent, and they’ve built a strong relationship with the school, which we really value. I’m confident that the strong performance we’ve seen from CID will continue through the remaining stages of the project.

I think the first thing that really struck me is that we felt like clients. And that's all the way from the Chief Executive down to the coordinators. So the experience we had was really one of working in partnership together, but we were clearly the client in the relationship.
