Who we are
CID is a Crown-owned company and an end-to-end infrastructure services provider, helping central and local government make the right infrastructure decisions and see them through, from early advice to delivery and beyond.
We're not here to take over. We work alongside councils and agencies to strengthen them as capable owners, bringing expertise and, when the workload outstrips your team, extra capacity.
We work to clear measures of value, budget, schedule, quality and safety, so you can be confident your infrastructure objectives are being met. You only pay for what you use, and because we work for the public good rather than a profit, our focus stays on the outcome for your community.
Where we came from
From CERA to Ōtākaro and now Crown Infrastructure Delivery, we delivered the central city Anchor Projects following the Canterbury earthquakes, working closely with the city council and local iwi.
More than a billion dollars of complex, public, politically sensitive work, delivered in the public eye. It is where we learned to deliver the hard ones.

How we work with you
You choose the level of support — from a single piece of advice through to leading a major build. Advice can stand alone, or flow into embedded support and full delivery as a project grows.
You only pay for what you use — we work on a fee-for-service basis. There is no obligation to take more than you need.
We strengthen your team — we coach and upskill as we go, so you are stronger for having worked with us rather than dependent on us.
We are genuinely independent — Crown owned and free of commercial bias, so our advice is impartial.
