Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre stands as a cornerstone of CID’s public infrastructure portfolio and a lasting symbol of our origins in the Christchurch rebuild.

As the Crown owner, CID works closely with operator Legends Global to ensure Te Pae Christchurch is maintained to a high standard and continues to deliver strong public value. This internationally recognised venue was named Oceania’s Leading Meetings and Conference Centre at the World Travel Awards 2025. Such recognition reflects not only the venue’s outstanding facilities and service, but also the disciplined asset management and facilities management practices CID applies as owner.

CID’s stewardship focuses on proactive maintenance, lifecycle renewals, and performance monitoring, ensuring Te Pae remains safe, reliable, and ready for the next big event. Our approach is designed to maximise public value, support regeneration, and maintain best practice standards.

The $450 million facility has capacity for up to 2,000 delegates, with a 1,400-seat auditorium, 2,800 square metres of exhibition hall, and 24 meeting rooms. Since opening in December 2021, Te Pae has exceeded expectations, hosting 210 events and welcoming over 80,000 visitors in 2024/25. Independent analysis shows the centre generated $77 million in GDP and supported nearly 700 full-time equivalent jobs nationwide, with most of that impact concentrated in Canterbury. Delegate feedback remains strong, with 91 percent of attendees indicating they would recommend the venue.

Te Pae Christchurch continues to achieve prestigious milestones, including AIPC Gold Certification, Toitū Net Carbon Zero status, and ISO certification. These achievements reinforce its reputation as a world-class venue that showcases the best of Christchurch and New Zealand. CID’s ownership and oversight of Te Pae Christchurch demonstrates our ability to deliver enduring public value through high-quality asset management. Our approach ensures the facility is maintained to a high standard and remains a catalyst for economic and social activity in the city centre.

Te Pae Christchurch is more than a venue—it is a long-term investment in Christchurch’s future, supported by careful stewardship and a commitment to excellence.
